Membership of the Society is open to all dentists. As a member of the Society an individual also automatically receives membership of the European Society of Endodontology.

Encouragement of professional development and the promotion of high standards are central functions of the Society. The Society also aims to bring together individuals with whom the practice of endodontics forms part of their working life and to offer advice and guidance.

  1. International Endodontic Journal

The International Endodontic Journal is published twelve times a year and is sent to each member without extra charge. The Journal publishes clinical and research articles and regular review articles and enables members to keep abreast of recent developments in endodontics. A calendar of events also gives details of endodontic meetings worldwide.

  2. Continuing Professional Education

The General Dental Council requires dentists to undertake CPE as part of their professional development. The Society offers members a number of ways in which they can complete their CPE requirement - for example - by attendance at its conferences; access to training courses to improve basic techniques and 'hands-on' workshops; the opportunity to publish research and present research undertaken and advice on study and reading material.

  3. Professional Practice

The Society offers its members the opportunity to contribute to and influence the direction of the profession and encourages its members to lobby Council on issues of individual concern. The Society also publishes a members handbook which is available widely.

  4. Meetings

Do you worry about your endodontics? Do you dread the thought of molar endodontics? Are you anxious that it may not be an adequate foundation for your crown and bridge work? Do you avoid endodontics because you find it difficult? Are you sure you know when endodontic treatment is indicated; and when it is not? Are you concerned that you are not up-to-date with technology and unsure of the different methods of resolving your questions.

The Society can help because these are exactly the type of topics that are addressed at our meetings, not only at the lectures but also informally with colleagues the Society holds two Meetings each year - a one day Meeting in the Spring and a two day Regional Meeting in the Autumn. The Meetings not only offer the opportunity to listen to distinguished speakers in the profession but also to participate in 'table clinics' and also in 'one-to-one' advice clinics. Members attend the Meetings at reduced rates and membership of the Society also offers members access to a range of training courses held around the UK throughout the year.

  5. Exhibitions

The Society arranges two exhibitions each year in conjunction with its Meetings. Members are given the opportunity to see the latest equipment on offer and meet and discuss with those involved in producing and marketing such equipment.

  6. Website

The Society's website continues to be developed to provide members with information and contacts.

  7. Connections Abroad

The Society has many sister Societies throughout the world offering members an even wider network of contacts. You can view some of these sister Societies in our Associated Societies section.
